About Us

Wasserman White Family Law is dedicated to giving you the best care and support

Where to Start

If you are contacting a family law attorney for the first time, you are probably filled with questions and concerns. We will provide accurate, honest advice and strong advocacy throughout the legal process.

If you want to meet with an attorney, the first step is to contact our office.

Our Administrative Manager will contact you to get relevant background information on your case. You will also receive information on the cost of a consult, the retainer, and the next steps.

Consultation

Most cases begin with a consultation meeting. At the meeting, we want to learn your goals to help us learn more about you and set the tone for our meeting and the advice we will give you. We will ask questions to elicit important background information from you.

We want to know about your family, finances, and, if it is a divorce, your assets. Bring important financial information to your consultation, such as pay stubs, tax returns, or a list of your monthly expenses for the meeting.

We want to hear your story. Please be completely honest with us about what happened to bring you to the point where you feel you need to hire an attorney.

After hearing your story, we will explain how Maryland family law applies to the specific facts of your case. We will provide you with information describing the case process and what factors are considered in cases where there is a request for alimony, child support, and/or custody.

Once we understand your goals, background, and story, we can discuss a strategy for moving forward. We will give you multiple options to choose from and help you weigh the pros and cons of each option. You can ask us a lot of questions.

No question is silly, and we will answer your questions honestly. You are welcome to ask us about our experience and qualifications. Our goal for all first client meetings is that you leave with a better understanding of the law, process, and strategy.

Retaining Our Services

After your consultation, we will send you an engagement letter and request a retainer payment. As we work on your case, you will receive monthly bills.

As your attorneys, we are responsible for keeping you apprised of all matters related to your case. As the client, you are responsible for keeping us apprised of any changes or issues that may be relevant to your case.

With this mutual understanding, we can move towards achieving your goals.
