Estate Planning

Protect your family, preserve your wishes and plan for the future.

The Estate Planning team at Wasserman White Family Law helps individuals and families create customized plans that provide peace of mind and security. Whether you need a Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, Advance Directive, or a comprehensive estate plan, we work with you to ensure your assets are protected and your wishes are clearly documented for the people you care about most.

Why Do I Need Estate Planning?

Having an estate plan allows for important decisions about your healthcare, finances and your assets to be made exactly how you intend. Without these documents, the state law will make these decisions for you.

An estate plan can also help your family avoid unnecessary delays, reduce conflict during difficult times, and provide clear guidance when important decisions need to be made. Whether your goal is to protect your children, care for a loved one with special needs, preserve family assets, or simply provide peace of mind, estate planning gives you control over the future and helps ensure your loved ones are cared for according to your wishes.

What Documents Do I Need?

Every estate plan is unique, but most people need the core set:

  • Last Will and Testament
  • Financial Power of Attorney
  • Advance Medical Directive

After speaking with our attorney, they will determine if you would benefit from additional documents such as a Revocable Trust or Guardianship Designations.

Each plan is designed for your circumstance and tailored to meet your family’s needs, goals and future.

Our Process

Estate Planning doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Our team is here to guide you through each step to make the process straight forward and give you peace of mind.

1. Attorney Strategy Meeting
You begin the process by meeting with your attorney to discuss your family, assets, concerns, and long-term goals. We take the time to understand what matters most to you and provide recommendations tailored to your unique circumstances.

2. Plan Design & Document Preparation
Based on your goals, your attorney will design an estate plan and prepare the necessary documents, which may include a Will, Trust, Powers of Attorney, Advance Directive, and other supporting documents.

3. Review & Revisions
Once your documents are drafted, you’ll receive copies for review. We encourage questions and will make any necessary revisions to ensure your plan accurately reflects your wishes.

4. Signing & Completion
After the documents are finalized, you’ll return to our office for a signing appointment. We will guide you through the execution process, ensure all legal requirements are met, and provide you with completed copies of your estate planning documents.

5. Ongoing Peace of Mind
Life changes, and your estate plan should evolve with it. We are available to help you review and update your plan as your family, finances, and goals change over time.
